Diet
- Decrease refined carbohydrates. Carbohydrates can cause insulin resistance which negatively impact hormones. When hormones are out of balance estrogen can dominate and trigger abnormal cellular growth.
- Eat foods that promote liver detoxification, these include: cabbage-family, beets, carrots, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, onions, lemons and artichokes. These compounds enhance estrogen metabolism. Cut unhealthy fats such as fried foods, foods high in trans-fatty acids and saturated fats.
- Soy and flax compounds can help mitigate the effects of estrogen.
- Cut out caffeine, alcohol & dairy.
Lifestyle
- Exercise aerobically. Aerobic exercise helps to detox the body and improve insulin sensitivity.
- Avoid exposure to chemicals that interfere with liver function.
- Limit exposure to pesticides and plastics.
