Bell’s Palsy
Diet
Decrease intake of arginine-containing foods. There is a theory, though yet unproven, that suggests that herpes simplex virus is at the root of Bell’s Palsy. Arginine is a key product in the replication of the virus and limiting its intake during a Bell’s Palsy episode may speed the healing.
Lifestyle
- Acupuncture may help to speed recovery.
- You should rule out other conditions like diabetes. A doctor’s visit is warranted to receive a proper diagnosis.
- Bell’s Palsy episodes can follow stressful events, learning to cope with stress is important.
